In the spring of 2000, I was a Fashion Designer in downtown LA that
turned animal rescuer. I began picking up abandoned, abused and starving
strays. That's how "Sparky and the Gang" started, my rescue
organization for homeless animals.
I live in Southern
Califormia with my first dog, Riley (a dalmation), and Rodgee (a
pitbull terrier). Rodgee was one of my first rescues. She had been
bruised, starved and left to die on the streets. To build up Rodgee's
confidence, I designed a pink glitter collar. It was not long after
that I began designing them for family, friends and all the rescue
animals!
So, what to
name this company, HMMMM.....................
Well, cats dig,
and dogs dig! They dig right into our golden hearts, and even into
our golden wallets. Just when I want to say "no", I look
down shaking my head again, and say, "alright, ya litlle GOLDDIGGERS!"
"Sparky
and the gang" has rescued over 800 dogs and cats. By purchasing
a "GOLDIGGERS" product, a part of our profit goes to local
LA rescue groups to assist in rehabilitation, spaying/neutering,
and feeding abandoned animals until they find permanent homes.
